School Board

This group meet approximately once per term and consists of 4 or 5 parent representatives, a selected staff representative and the Principal.

The School Council plays a key role in the school planning and school budget.

Deputy Mayor of the city of Stirling


I have been involved with Gladys Newton School for a number of years with the School P&C and in the last couple of years the school Council. I am a City of Stirling Councillor for Balga, a member of the Balga Friday Markets and have lived in the Balga area for most of my life. I am dedicated to improving the needs and amenity of Balga and all of its residents and strongly support Gladys Newton School and its continued success.

Frank Musiello

Business Development Manager- Activ Pathways


I have 18 years experience working in the training arena in both for profit and not for profit organisations in the UK and more recently here in Australia. I joined Activ Pathways in 2012 in the role of BDM working closely with schools, students and adults in helping the achieve their learning goals and aspirations towards achieving better life for themselves. I joined the Gladys Newton board in 2014 and have been ac active member since then.

Maggie May

Deputy Principal


I started my teaching career in mainstream, working in Primary Schools and on  school of the Air, Meekatharra. After completing postgraduate studies in ‘Children with Special Needs’, I changed course and have since taught in Education Support Centres and Schools. I have held several Acting Principal positions over the years and have been Deputy Principal at Gladys Newton School for almost 12 years

Andrzej Gruszecki

I have over 25 years of teaching experience both in Poland and Australia. I started my teaching career in mainstream, working in Primary Schools. After coming to Australia, I completed postgraduate studies in ‘Children with Special Needs’. In 2001 I started work at Gladys Newton School and in 2010 I became Deputy Principal.

Keren Provost



I began my teaching career in 2008 , working mainly in mainstream primary schools and at Geographe Education Support centre in Busselton. I commenced working at Gladys Newton School in 2012 and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Learning Difficulties in 2014. During my time at Gladys Newton School I have been a Phys Ed Specialist and Senior School Teacher, as well as coordinating programs including Bush ranger Cadets, Stephanie Alexander kitchen Garden, VET/Workplace learning and have been acting Deputy principal on several occasions.

Nadya Beyeler

Education Assistant


I am an Education Assistant at Gladys Newton School. I am currently in my 9th permanent year at Gladys. I did my certificate IV in Education Assistant special needs at Gladys and I have never looked back. Over my time I have worked with a range of students with varying ages and disabilities and numerous staff that have always encouraged personal and professional growth. There is always something to be learnt and you can always better yourself. I am currently studying part time to become a registered nurse. I am greatly honoured to be a part of the School Board this year.




Ruth is a physiotherapist with extensive experience as a clinician and as a service manager in the health and disability sectors. She has worked in the United Kingdom and Western Australia in government and non government organisations. She joined Therapy Focus in 2011 and is currently the Executive Manager for clinical services. Since joining Therapy Focus she has managed staff providing a therapy service for children attending Gladys Newton School.
